Products containing a lithium-ion battery
Almost all portable electronic devices use lithium-ion batteries, which are flammable and therefore there are a number of restrictions on their transport. These restrictions apply to devices such as cell phones, laptops, tablets, portable game consoles, e-books, mobile batteries, digital cameras, electric toothbrushes, Bluetooth headphones, etc.
We cannot ship:
1. You may not ship individual batteries that are not built-in or in devices, or portable chargers, including mobile batteries, Bluetooth headphone chargers, e-cigarettes, and replacement batteries for laptops, digital cameras, and other similar devices.
2. It is prohibited to send devices containing batteries with more than 100Wh, such as electric bicycles, chainsaws, portable refrigerators, and other similar devices.
3. When shipping via EMS, AIR, or DHL, no more than two lithium-ion batteries are allowed in a single shipment.
4. The limit for shipping lithium-ion batteries using UPS or FedEx is 5 kg per carton (batteries must be included in the unit).
5. When shipping to Germany, Italy, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Laos, Mongolia:
- EMS or AIR cannot be used;
- at least 3 options are available to choose from among UPS, FedEx or DHL.
6. There are stricter rules for shipping Surface parcels than there are for air shipping. Some countries prohibit shipping lithium-ion batteries by sea, such as the U.S., Australia, and Singapore. Before shipping a package with a Surface battery, make sure the recipient's country allows this type of shipping. A list of countries is provided in this document: https://www.post.japanpost.jp/int/use/restriction/restriction02_en.pdf
